This wooden box contains six 1oz. containers of teas that were popular in the British colonies. Packaged exclusively for the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, this set includes three of the five teas that were thrown into Boston Harbor on the night of December 16, 1773 during the Boston Tea Party, Bohea (a lightly smoked blend of black teas,) Young Hyson (a light sweet green tea,) and Lapsang Souchong (a smoky black tea.) Also included are three other varieties of tea that were popular with the colonists but were not thrown overboard that night in 1773. They are Oolong (a smooth green tea from China,) Peppermint (an herbal infusion,) and Pinhead Gunpowder (a tightly rolled green tea.)
