Boston Harbor Tea is an exceptional blend of the finest hand-picked black teas from Sri Lanka and Darjeeling. Teas grown in Sri Lanka are known as Ceylon teas and have a distinct taste that make for a perfect afternoon tea. Darjeeling teas are grown in the unique mountainous climate of Northern India and tend to have a stimulating taste and aroma, setting them apart from other black teas. When brewed, Boston Harbor Tea produces a golden cup with a sweet aroma and a brisk flavor that makes for a truly memorable cup of tea.

Centuries ago, the taxation of tea without proper consent was one of the catalysts that helped spark the American War of Independence. On December 16, 1773 a group of Colonial patriots boarded three English ships in Boston Harbor and threw the tea onboard into the water, in protest against the duty imposed on tea by the Government of King George III.

On March 7,1774, at a second Boston Tea Party, 16 chests of fine tea from tea merchants, Davidson Newman & Co. Ltd. of London, were also dumped in the harbor in defiance of British policies. Still in operation today, Britian's oldest tea merchant has developed this famous tea blend.
